Vanessa & Willie’s Wedding Story

Our love story started in 2005…. On the 3rd of December 2007, we
embarked on an unforgettable journey. A journey which changed our
lives forever. As the sun set over the beautiful mountains and gorge
of Crystal Springs, a very important question was answered by a simple
?Yes?. As we had dinner at the lodge, the Lord blessed us with the
most beautiful drizzling rain which capped off a perfect evening. We
have always dreamt and imagined about our special wedding day. Our
dream came true on the 3rd of March 2012.
After our second visit to Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge, situated in the
heart of the picturesque Pilanesberg National Park, we decided that
this will be the venue for our wedding. In all the years spent
together we took loads of pictures and captured a lot of memories
which helped us to plan and visualize how our perfect day would be
like. Kwa Maritane, who hosted only their second wedding, was
phenomenal. They really took all our ideas to heart and made it their
pride to host the perfect wedding. They catered for the wedding with a
Bush Boma Dinner which left our guests in awe!
Even thought we wanted the Bush Wedding surrounded by nature and wild
animals we also wanted the elegance to come alive after sunset. Our
decor was supplied by Ladybug Events. Crystal chandeliers and crystal
centre pieces were chosen as the focal point of every table. The
colour of rustic brown, Silky white and the natural colours of the
Pilanesberg created the perfect setting. Strategically placed Chinese
lanterns with fairy lights and mood fires created a beautiful
atmosphere.
Our photographers and videographer, both from Kenosis School of Arts,
captured every moment from every angle. Which left us with the most
incredible memories for life, they have a natural talent and this was
the perfect choice for our environment and will recommend them to
anyone for any occasion.
Predator World situated about 5km from Kwa Maritane gave us the most
wonderful opportunity to have pictures taken with Hoover and Dysan ,
their two beautiful tamed Cheetahs. It was really an amazing
experience and they went out of their way to accommodate us.
Our cake was designed and made by a very dear friend of ours who kept
this a surprise for both of us until the wedding day. Three delicious
heart- shaped tiers of Lindt chocolate tickled every taste bud and
were most enjoyed in the honeymoon suit…wink wink!!
Our guest were driven to the venue in game trucks, also had the
opportunity to see some wildlife on the way. Kwa Maritane staff
welcomed them with a drink and an ice cold hand towel. We were blessed
with the most amazing weather on the day even the zebra?s, wildebeests
and an elephant made a surprise appearance.
The Wedding dress I dreamt about was designed and made by Biji
Couture. I was honoured and blessed to be walking down the aisle with
this spectacular and out of this world design. I felt like a princess
and looked like a Billion dollars! These ladies are superstars, and
deserve all the credit as they not only made me look Bijilicious, but
also have a special place in my heart. They put so much love and
effort into every single detail on the dress. Everybody was blown away
when I showed off my beautiful dress.
Nomadik Tents supplied us with a stretch tent and dance floor which
hosted our guest?s cinema style. It looked like a fairytale in the
Bush. They set up a dance floor in the bush that got every single
guest moving their feet and party the night away.
